A percentage of headaches do arise from the inflammation of the muscles and joints of the upper neck which then trap nerves that supply the scalp and eyes
It can be caused by lifestyle, stress, posture or historic falls or accidents. This type of headache is very treatable with mobilization, soft tissue work and exercise to help strengthen the area.
The best course of action to take is to have your wife’s neck assessed. If there is tenderness and/or restriction then treatment is indicatedand should cure the problem. If not, then it is important to investigate further for other possible causes.
