RE:neck painThere are a number of factors that could be causing your neck and arm pain. It would be important for you to get this checked out in clinic to identify if the pain in your arm is radiating from a muscle, an irritated nerve at your neck, or possibly one of the tendons in your shoulder. We would be able to identify the cause of your symptoms by looking at your movement, feeling through your spinal joints, and checking for strength and weakness in different muscle groups. Pain that comes on gradually as you have described is likely to be strongly affected by your posture at work. Your Physiotherapist would discuss this with you to help you identify solutions to particular 'ergonomic' problems. There are many treatment approaches that can help to relieve this kind of pain, whether it is coming from your neck or your shoulder. The most important thing to do first is to book an appointment and get it examined properly. I hope this helps! Best wishes, Emma Symes Physiotherapist
