Acupuncture needles are placed gently in specific points known as acupuncture points to smooth and unblock energy flow (known as 'Qi') along the meridians.
The sensation can be described as tingling or a dull ache. Patients commonly experience heaviness in the limbs or a pleasant feeling of relaxation.
What happens on my first visit?
The first consultation takes approximately one hour. This includes a consultation, diagnosis and treatment. By making a thorough examination, your acupuncturist can see how all the body's systems are working together and where the cause of the problem is like to be.
